It's a... BABY!

Sorry, we don't want to find out... so we're not going to let you know if it's a boy or girl... because we just don't know! As a matter of fact, the ultrasound tech was excited that we wanted to be surprised... she said out of the 10-15 ultrasounds she does a week, normally only one couple doesn't want to know. I originally really wanted to know the sex, but now I'm excited to be surprised! It also gives me something to "push for" at the end!!!

So, here are some pictures from the ultrasound this morning... Here's Thumper from the side... his/her right hand is up at the side of their face. You can obviously see the nose, forehead, and big belly... and then his/her knees are tucked up near his belly.

In this picture, the mouth is open a little, so you can see the lower jaw... again, the right arm is still up to the side of the face.

Here the baby is looking at us! You can see the outline of the skull... and the white area is the nose. The baby's hand is now over his/her right eye.

And finally... my favorite picture! THUMPER IS SMILING AT US!!! The scanner didn't really do this one justice, but there is a defined open smiling (or yawning) mouth. SO CUTE!!!

The due date is now May 25, 2009... and the baby's current weight is 1 pound 6 ounces. I've gained 10 pounds... which is really good! Not too much, not too little. Just right! ;o)

Bump at 22 Weeks

I know I said I didn't think I had grown that much... well, after looking at this picture from last night... I notice that I was sorely mistaken!

Don't really see the difference... check out the side by side with Week 20...

I'm definitely getting "rounder."

Yesterday was also mom's birthday!!! Here we are before we went Lions Club. I took mom out to a very nice dinner on Monday to celebrate... and gave her a certificate for Mom & Daughter massages and pedicures! I don't know about her... but I'm very excited! I've NEVER had a proper massage... escpecially a pregnancy massage. It'll be wonderful! I can't wait!

22 Weeks

WOO HOO!!! 22 WEEKS!

If you know me at all, you know I'm OBSESSED with the number 22... so this is a very good week for me!

According to babycenter.com, my baby is the size of a spaghetti squash! Mmmmmm!!!

Today is my mom's birthday... and she ALREADY got a card from the baby! Pretty impressive, huh? Only super intelligent babies can send cards from the womb!

I'll take some pictures of the bump tonight... although I don't really think I've grown much. I feel like I have, but I don't think I look like it.

Stupid computers!

Why is it that computers never work when you really want them to?

I got a call last night from Aurora Health Care telling me the ultrasound unit is down... so we had to reschedule my scan! Darnit!!!

And of course, the only day Toby's available is Thursday... so we have to wait a whole 'nother week!

It's been 14 weeks since I've seen Thumper... and Toby hasn't seen him/her at all! We're EXTREMELY anxious to see the little one... and now we have to wait another week.

Bummer!

A note on my progress:

I am steadily growing... and I'm now noticing I can't really bend over. Well, I can... it's just very uncomfortable. I've decided that alot of things are going to have to be reworked at the office... I'm not going to be able to reach the bottom file cabinets much longer. And if I continue to drop things on the floor around my desk, other people will have to pick them up!!! ;o)

I can feel the little one thumping around in there all the time! It's a great feeling... because the more he/she moves and the more I grow means the more the baby's growing!

I've also noticed that it thumps back when I poke or nudge my belly. Toby and I have been talking alot to Thumper, and I can tell that he/she notices my voice... however, Toby always talks in funny voices to the baby, so he's probably just confusing the little one. But it's great when he rubs and kisses my belly... you can tell he's really excited about becoming a daddy... and I know he's going to be wonderful!

Signing out for now.

Ahhh... progress!

Left to Right: 13 weeks, 16 weeks, 18 weeks, 20 weeks.

Random Stuff

Every store should have this.

Hitting it hard on New Years Eve... I was asleep by 10:30pm. (I drank ONE non-alcoholic beer!)

Look at the size of this thing!

Parents-to-be!

The Growing Bump...

Is it just me, or have I doubled in size?
Here I am at 20 weeks, 2 days. My mom said to me "Oh my gosh... you've doubled in size!"
Thanks, mom.
But I think she's right... I've "popped" as my friend Katie puts it.
And I'm only going to get bigger... woo hoo!!!

20 down... 20 to go!

I can't believe I'm at the half way marker in this amazing journey called pregnancy!

To be honest, the last 20 weeks seem to have flown by... but I'm sure the next 20 won't be so "easy." All exhaustion, frequent urination and aches put aside... as long as it all results in a healthy, happy, bouncing baby... it will be all worth it! I'm looking forward to every second!

As for Thumper's movement... definitely still thumping away! I've notice he/she likes milk. Every time I drink milk, Thumper gets active. Good thing... because mommy & daddy LOVE milk! As a matter of fact, I drank almost an entire gallon yesterday. Thumper was happy!!!

I'll post some more pictures very soon. I'm at the point where I think I just look fat, not necessarily pregnant...

As Toby puts it... "cute fat." God love him.

"Thumper" Simpson

I've officially nicknamed the baby "Thumper."

Do me a favor, flick yourself lightly on the belly. That's what it feels like now when the baby moves. Like a little thump. Hence the nickname "Thumper." Yes, like the rabbit on Bambi.

The baby was thumping me like crazy last night. I was sitting in the chair with my feet up on the ottoman... and it was thumping away. Toby came over and held his hand on my stomach, both of us hoping he would feel the thump, thump... but no such luck. Little Thumper isn't packing much of a punch yet. So although I can feel the thumping resonate througout my stomach... it can't be felt outside yet. Hopefully soon though... I think Toby's getting jealous that I get to feel everything... and he only gets to hear about it.

In due time... in due time.
